Principal's Message

Greetings Bearcats, 

I am honored and excited for another new school year. I am Mrs. Tawanna Hamm, Principal of Heskett Middle School. With 20 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of working with diverse student populations and collaborating with passionate educators and families. I taught middle and elementary school English Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies for 12 years and have been an administrator for 8 years. I am committed to fostering a nurturing and dynamic learning environment for our students. 

As your principal, my goal is to continue to build a strong cultural foundation of high expectations and high academic achievement. I will continue to create an atmosphere where every student can thrive. What is best for students is at the foundation of every decision that I make as the building principal of Heskett Middle School. I believe that it is the collaborative responsibility of the school, parents and guardians, and the community to ensure student positive growth. 

I am dedicated to ensuring that each child receives the support and encouragement they need to reach their full potential. 

What to Expect: 

● Student growth and academic success: I will make decisions that are best for students to ensure our students academic needs are met. I will provide every opportunity for students to achieve academically, socially and emotionally. 

● Open Communication: I value transparency and open dialogue. I will keep you informed through regular updates and am always available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. 

● Engagement Opportunities: I look forward to meeting and working with parents and community members. Your involvement is crucial, and I encourage you to participate in our school community. Success is a team effort. I am eager to continue to work closely with teachers, staff, students, and families to ensure we achieve our shared goals.
