Principal's Message

Greetings, Heskett Families!

My name is Lania Crawford, and I am excited and honored to serve as Principal of Heskett Middle School.

I bring more than 20 years of experience educating students from pre-kindergarten through middle school, as well as supporting teachers and staff through training and professional development. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to being a lifelong learner so that I can stay informed about best practices and current research in education and continue growing as a leader.

As one of Heskett’s building leaders, my goal is to help our teachers and staff reach their full potential so that we can help our students do the same. I believe that happens by creating a positive, collaborative environment where everyone feels valued, supported and empowered to contribute to the success of our school community.

Our families are an important part of that work. I encourage parents and guardians to stay engaged in your student’s education, communicate with our teachers and staff, participate in school activities and remain connected to what is happening throughout Heskett. When our students, families and educators work together, we create the strong support system our young people need to learn, grow and succeed.

I look forward to working alongside each of you as we continue building a school culture rooted in pride, achievement and a shared commitment to helping every Heskett student reach their full potential.
